The Sisterhood Of The World Bloggers Award

In July 2015 (read: Waa-hey-hey-ay too long ago – sorry!), Pretty Ruff Life nominated me for this award, which in her own words: “recognizes the unique voices of women bloggers around the world.” Very cool!!

sisterhood of the world bloggers

Thank you, Nicole, so much! I am so honored!!! (And I’m terribly sorry it took me so long to get this post written.)

Nicole writes a really fun, bright, and relatable, makeup (plus!) blog. 😀 Check it out here!!

All righty so the rules for this award are as follows:

  • Thank and link the blogger who nominated you.
  • Answer the 10 questions your nominator has provided.
  • Nominate 10 other bloggers.
  • Create 10 questions for your nominees and notify them of their nomination.

Okay, so here are the questions I’ve been asked!

1. What’s one thing that your followers may not know about you?

Despite having two office jobs, I almost never work at a desk. XD

2. What’s your favourite movie of all time?

The Emperor’s New Groove, Elizabethtown, The Avengers, The King’s Speech, and The Court Jester are all vying for top spots! 🙂 (And now The Greatest Showman is definitely on the list, too!)

3.  When it comes to cosmetics, do you prefer drugstore or high-end?  Why?

Well, as you probably know, when it comes to cosmetics, I try to use mostly all-natural stuff so my skin doesn’t hurt (since it’s really sensitive), and I rarely use cosmetics. But when I do (did you read that in the Most Interesting Man In The World’s Voice? XD) I use lower-priced products. So, I’d say, probably the equivalent of drugstore! I tend to choose those, because usually the less-expensive natural brands have more simpler and whole-ingredients & I feel less “marketed to” when I visit their site. 🙂

4.  In your opinion, what’s the best and worst thing about writing a blog?

Best: All the interactions with other people!!

Worst: Never knowing if I should post ___ or not. <– This is really tough. Freezing when I try to reply to the awesome comments. <– This is getting better. 😀

5. What’s your favourite piece of clothing that’s currently in your closet?

My “gishtip” t-shirt that has artistically laid out the saying “Ever been told you weren’t capable of achieving something ? Don’t believe the demons!! Rain a little rock salt and then go do it!” — it’s based off the Supernatural universe, where demons and ghosts cannot cross a salt line. I like the tongue in cheek mix of reality and metaphor. It’s a super comfy shirt.

Actually, my other super-comfy tee is an equally boldly-messaged Christian tee that has fancy-gothic-style writing on the front that says “Jesus beat the devil” and on the back it has a picture of a cross with more writing that says, “with a big ugly stick!” It’s soo bold-ish I was nervous about wearing it outside of home, but BT said he didn’t see it as a problem, nor that bold, and something about the fabric and the cut makes it sooooo comfortable. (I still tend to wear it at home mostly.) Both of these tee’s messages of confidence sometimes do help on tough days. 🙂

Also favs!: my new-to-me wool coat that instantly classifies any outfit I’m wearing XD, and a lace-covered skirt that I actually bought new (but I have almost nothing to wear with it XD)! 🙂

6.  If you could only eat 3 things for the rest of your life, what would they be?

Cheese, apples and cookies. 🙂 Cookies became a favorite food of mine after I found out I had an MSG allergy, because they (fun fact!) almost never have MSG added! (And I also just like cookies! 🙂 )

7.  Name something you know you’re really good at and something you know you could improve on.

I could improve upon being able to banter with people and recognize jokes. I’m really good at… doing things (mostly last-minute) that need doing or I want to do even if it seems impossible. 🙂

8. List the one beauty product (skin care, hair care or cosmetic) that has changed your life.

Lotion! I didn’t realize I had so many (mild) skin-conditions but most of the time lotion has helped, which is such a simple fix!

9.  Name the most memorable place you’ve ever travelled and why (was it so memorable).

Oooh… Every place has it’s own brand of memories so this is so hard!!

I think surprisingly I’d have to say a mountain resort I once stayed in. It was mystically foggy and cool, and my brother and I pretty much banded together against any sort of downer to make it a good time, so it has a really neat kind of memory with it cool. I was really INFP and named like every bit of land. This was ___ Pointe, that was X Hillock. *lightly facepalms from the silliness*

10.  Who’s your style icon?

Like who I would try to dress like, or take tips from? Hmm… I haven’t really had money to buy more than just the basics, usually, so I haven’t much looked into it.

But I do every once in a while get inspired by: goth/steampunk fashion, Taylor Swift, Kate Middleton, and TV characters like Joan (Covert Affairs), Brennan (Bones – the use of necklaces), and such! 🙂 I actually sometimes really like looking at fashion, and my favorite game is a the Covet fashion-styling-game, which is kind of odd to me, since it seems so opposite from what I’d say I enjoy lol! Sometimes I get inspired by the app, too!

I nominate the following blogs written by awesome ladies like:

Travelling the World Solo –  She writes with captivating narration, accompanied by beautiful pictures, about her fantastic, solo adventures. 🙂 Check out this post (because kitty)!

Girl on the Contrary – Mull-worthy and chuckle-inducing snippets from her life that stay with you long after you’ve read them. Seriously, her way of writing & way of viewing experiences blows me away – so succinct and so witty! XD Check out this post!

The Aspiring Medic –  I hadn’t been following her very long before she started med school, and was unable to post as frequently, but it’s really neat to read her latest and learn about life in Britain and her thoughts on life when she posts! 🙂

Buried Thoughts/You, Me, and the Universe – Thought provoking, world-traveling – “I’ve totally thought that!!” or, “Why haven’t I thought that before?” posts.

It’s A Healthy Lifestyle – Izzy’s Life Without Anorexia blog helped me (and many many others) a lot with questions I had during recovery, and now that she’s been completely recovered from anorexia for a few years & starting college, she’s started a new blog where she can talk about her passions! Vegan, nutrition, and mental health are all addressed here! Check out this post!

Romantic Notions – Beautiful prose! Check out this post in which she long-form metaphors a relationship with a garden!!

Blissful Britt – Bouncy – that’s the first thing I think of when I think of her blog. 🙂 Her posts are also so very real, hopeful, and inspire me to get out more or try more yummy food. I also reallly really want to go hiking in Washington now… Check out this post!

Sick and Sick of It – Writes about being young, and having a chronic illness, but living without it defining you. She writes poems, posts about her perspective on life, and I think it’s so neat how she includes song-lyric inspirations at the bottom of each post! Check out this post!

Say Hello to Gorgeous – Vanessa recently made her return to blogging and I’m so happy she did!! 🙂 V and I have been following each other since the early days of my blog. 🙂 She writes about beauty and more and reviews cruelty-free beauty products!

Shannon A Thompson – Shannon is an author that I met through blogging! 🙂 She writes about the writing process, books, and issues – like spoiler-free reviews, and romance in YA books – with her adorable kitties making an appearance every once in a while, too! 🙂

My 10 questions for you are! (I’m going to borrow a few from the ones I was asked because they were fun! :))

1. What’s one thing that your followers may not know about you?

2. What are some of your favourite movie(s) of all time? Why?

3. What are you listening to right now? 🙂

4.  In your opinion, what’s the best and worst thing about writing a blog?

5. If you could alter one situation from your past what would it be and how?

6. What is your most recommended way to let go of some stress?

7. What is your most cherished recipe? Why?

8. Name the most memorable place you’ve ever travelled and why it was so memorable.

9.  What’s a style or trend that you’ve wanted to try but haven’t been able to yet?

10. What question do you wish I’d asked you? Go ahead and answer it! 🙂

Thank you again to Nicole at Pretty Ruff Life! ❤

Have a wonderful Tuesday ya’ll!!

If you could eat only 3 things for the rest of your life what would it be?

I invent cookie recipes all the time actually… Would you like me to post more of those?

Answer one of the questions above!! 😀

Author: Arctic Hare!

I write Naturally Dreamy and have a lot of fun with that!
